This is the first song we composed with our actual formation. The song has been created in only a few rehearsals during our daily improvisations. The goal was to have a catchy, energic and short song to start our lives with. It has been recorded in a few hours and mixed with a lot of compression/saturation to emphasis the live feeling. Our drummer used a cabassa to replace the charleston, and the snare features an old-school 80' gated reverb. Oh and for the lyric part, you know, love issues...
lyrics
When I woke up, you were not there
You go and stick your nose everywhere
You think I don't see a thing
Until you get back next morning
But I keep my mouth shut
Cause I don't know what to say
Maybe someone's gonna go nuts but
Whatever, he will run away
When I’m with you, you're not there
You are lost inside your head
Take a chance and do it again
The next time you won't be the same
But I keep my mouth shut
Cause I don't know what to say
Maybe someone's gonna go nuts but
Whatever, he will run away
Stop yelling at me, I don't need you
Instead of facing the world, you want a world made for you
I'm just a guy living in the crowd
Floating around your dream with a fishing rod
And when I finally talked to you
I only saw the empty eyes
A bad reaction faced to the truth
So much better to tell lies
